The Centenary of the Legion of Mary

An Afternoon to Honor Mary and Jesus
For 100 years of the Legion of Mary.

PROVIDENCE — We are delighted that the Most Reverend Thomas Tobin will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Legion of Mary in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul at 1:00 on November 21st. All are welcome. The Legion of Mary was founded by Frank Duff and devoted lay people in Dublin on Sept. 8, 1921, the Birthday of Mary. Our celebration will be on the Presentation of Mary, Nov. 21st

Tentative Schedule:

The Tessera Prayers will handed out in multiple languages along with Petition cards for Petition/ Thanksgiving prayers.

 
Petition cards for Petition/ Thanksgiving prayers will be placed in basket and presented during the Offeratory. The Tessera will be said at the time of the Rosary.


1:oopm –2:15pm Solemn Mass at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul The Most Reverend Thomas J. Tobin D.D officiating, Bishop of Providence.  Rev. Father Stephen Dandeneau, Spiritual Director of Legion of Mary


2:15pm-3:15pm Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament, and a Holy hour of Adoration. Pray the Glorious Mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary Recitation of the Catena, Prayer for the Beatification of Frank Duff, followed by Benediction 


3:15pm-5:oopm Reception in Church Hall to celebrate 1ooyrs of the Legion of Mary Welcome by Edward Gallagher, President of Providence Comitium
